if time played matters in legion then it's already not worth playing.
their will always be players that have been around longer, and if that creates a point in the game that new players cannot enjoy the game, then it is doomed to fail from the beginning.
one of the points of legion is to create pve, and other game modes where players can play the game without the need to face proto stomps every match.
doing a server wipe does nothing but hide that for a few months then new players joining will be behind again.
finally legion can either be considered a reboot or the continuation of dust514, which ever way they brand legion will largely effect whether their is a server wipe or not. |

Explain how the "sandbox" will work then? It is the same in eve, it takes about 2 years of subscribing before you can truly compete, at that point more SP isn't a big deal. I can easily prove that too. Look at who has controlled EVE: coalitions of players over 2 years old. Even goonswarm, when they were young but with tons of players, they were kicked around like a soccer ball by the north and BoB. Around 2 years later their membership had the prerequisite SP and isk to start actually standing up for themselves. If you do a sandbox in new eden, AGE is a HUGE deal up to a certain point. Otherwise there will be no sandbox, only instanced PvE and level matched non-consequentail PvP.
the point isn't that age won't matter, the point is that you should not be required to participate in the same game modes with them 24/7.
you are not thrown into null sec upon creating your character in eve, yet you are in dust514, this is why proto stomping occurs, in legion they will be or at least should be separated and given their own experiences and ways to succeed.
you will have game modes where you can participate and contribute at any age of your character in eve, and likewise that should be in legion.
whether this is the case or it isn't the case their is no reason to do a wipe, because the success or flaw of the system will be apparent within a couple of months after the wipe.
i'm unsure of what you expect of the legion sandbox but players currently have been playing dust for 2 years, it was chromosome, and then it was uprising, and soon it will be legion. nothing really differs aside from the platform it will be presented to us on, just another major update really. |

I am not sure what planet you are living on, but here in reality CCP has said things like: "Dust and Legion are seperate games" "Maybe transfer some of your skills and equipment if they applicable" <--- they won't be, why do you think all the ifs are there? "If legion becomes an actual game, we will transfer some stuff" <- once again this allows a lot of wiggle room. I just don't understand why anyone would believe such indefinite statements from a company that has been misleading it's playerbase for 7 months, even profiting from them off of false pretenses. EDIT: every single thing that they have been saying has been specifically and carefully worded in a way for them to screw us over. EVERY SINGLE THING.
actually i've watched every video put out for fan fest, and by the end of fan fest they presented the project as just a continuation of dust and actually guaranteed full transfers.
although I take that at only face value, and wouldn't be surprised if they already changed that stance, it shows that ccp still aren't sure what they will be doing, how can the community have any idea what will happen.
as for them planning to screw us over, it's just standard non-committal PR bullshit that every company does, plain and simple they have no idea what they will do because they haven't even begun making the game yet. |
